At Cedar Mountain Construction LLC in Snoqualmie, WA, we transformed an oversized, awkwardly laid out bathroom by splitting it into two separate full bathrooms to better serve the primary bedroom and household needs. The goal was to make a much more efficient use of space while creating two fully functional, comfortable bathrooms that feel modern and open.
We started by reconfiguring the existing footprint, dividing the room so each new bathroom functions as a full bath. That change allowed us to create a private primary bathroom off the bedroom and a second full bathroom without wasting square footage. The new layouts were planned to improve flow and storage while keeping circulation simple and intuitive.
For finishes we used large-format porcelain tile across the project, covering the shower walls and the bathroom floors. Using the same tile family on walls and floors created a cohesive look and makes maintenance easier for homeowners. The showers have glass doors, which keep water contained while maintaining visual openness. Glass doors let light pass through, so the bathing areas stay bright and do not interrupt sight lines between fixtures. We also built two custom niches in the shower walls to provide recessed storage for shampoo, soap, and other items, keeping counters and ledges clear.
Heated floors were included in both bathrooms to add comfort, especially during colder months. The radiant floor heat provides consistent warmth underfoot and enhances the daily experience of using the new primary suite. Ample lighting was installed throughout, combining task and ambient light so the bathrooms are well lit for grooming and general use.
